New Year’s Eve in Streeterville

31 December, 2015

We’re living it up over here.

I just took a loaf of cinnamon bread out of the oven, and am now cuddling on the couch with Mook and Ninja.  Pony Monkey is passed out in her stroller because she couldn’t handle all of the excitement going on tonight along the river in our neighborhood.  Helicopters are outside, seemingly hovering above our building, and party-goers are starting to hit the streets below.

Earlier this evening we took a stroll to check out the scene of what I had read was meant to rival Times Square.  Granted, it was 8PM, but it was anything but NYC on NYE.  Nothing much was going on, but the walk satisfied my curiosity and gave me an opportunity to snap a few pictures.

NOT Times Square

I’m not one for New Year’s resolutions, but after having looked over the pictures I’ve taken this past year, as well as getting a fun new lens and some other camera gear, I want to focus more in the coming year on taking pictures and capturing more of the detail of what makes up my life.  And to try to keep myself on task, I’d like to post some of these pictures on a regular basis.  I’ve come to really enjoy looking back at the books I’ve made lists of each year, as well as other events, experiences, or memories I’ve chosen to write about, and weekly photo posts seem like they’d fit in with this well. Let’s see how that goes.. keep me accountable, yeah?

2015 was good to me, and 2016 is going to be great.  We’ve got a few very exciting projects that we’re working on.

Change is in the air – please stand by.

Hello, I think your site might be having browser compatibility issues.
When I look at your blog in Ie, it looks fine but when opening in Internet
Explorer, it has some overlapping. I just wanted to give you a
quick heads up! Other then that, awesome blog!
