making plans for the weekend

4 November, 2015

Pony Monkey and I were sitting in traffic this afternoon when Edward Maya and Vika Jigulina’s “Stereo Love” somehow came on the radio.

Having heard it all the time while living in Morocco, and not so much (if at all) since then, the song immediately took me back to living in Errachidia, and specifically, to a time when The Husband and I made plans for a weekend trip to southern Spain.

That got me thinking about how different our life is now, and how I’d love to be heading off to Granada for the weekend, especially without having to endure a trans-Atlantic flight.

Instead of making grand travel plans, I’m now thinking of adding a meal of tortilla española, warm bread, and good olives to my current plans of massive amounts of grading, a trip to the park, and getting things done around the house.  My plans for this weekend, like the current incarnation of my life, are less exciting than when living overseas, but life remains every bit as tasty and enjoyable.
