leaving home part I

5 September, 2012

Two years ago today, I left home.

I had moved before, sure, but that was my first time moving away from the United States.  And in these last two years I have experienced much more than I had even thought to think about while packing my bags for Morocco and dreaming about what the future might hold.

I’m sitting here today, in Kentucky, thinking about the places I’ve been, the people I’ve met along the way, and about the fact that my life is so much richer for having had these experiences.

I’m also thinking about the new 2012-2013 Fulbright grantees who are currently on their way to Morocco, and I’m wishing them all the very best of luck in their newly adopted homeland.  Have some atay b nana for me, wakha?
