back in the classroom again

29 November, 2011

Today, I began teaching at my new university.

I planned to arrive a full thirty minutes before class started, just in case any problems came up.  My commute was shorter than I expected; the metro and tram were right where I wanted them to be when I arrived at each point, door-to-door in about 12 minutes.

This semester, I’m teaching four sections of Business English to freshmen.  And after meeting with two groups today, I am reminded of why I love working with this age group.

Small nightmare of coming into a classroom mid-term (and trying to accommodate students who are coming from eight different sections, having already learned and been tested on eight different sets of material) aside, I think this is going to be a good semester, and I’m definitely glad to be back in the classroom again.

From the saddle of a camel to the tiles on the floor in Poland. You still amaze me.
