eight hours in Essaouira

3 January, 2011

After two nights in ‘Kech, we decided to seek out a more relaxed environment and certainly found that in Essaouira.

I had an early morning flight to catch, so I was only able to spend the evening in Essaouira, but from the little I saw, I know it is somewhere I want  to go back to.

The Husband and Rachel stayed at a really zwin riad called Dar Afram.  The owner seems like a cool guy, and I enjoyed hanging out at his place for the time I was there.

The medina is small, relatively clean, and quiet, and the street food offerings (crepes! Ice cream! And for those so-inclined, fresh fish!) were delicious.

I’m hoping to return here in a few months to revisit the city when Mother comes to visit, inch’Allah.
